In 2007, Joey and Gavin DeGraw opened The National Underground at 159 E. Houston Street in New York City. The National Underground features original music with stellar sound in an intimate setting along with a charcoal grill serving lunch, dinner and late night fare. The club has attracted recording artists such as Norah Jones, Moby, Billie Jo Armstrong of Green Day and John Popper of Blues Traveler and Sports figures such as NASCAR Champion, Jimmie Johnson, who recently named The National Underground as one of his favorite places in New York City, in an NBC interview.
The National Underground recently opened its second location on Broadway in Nashville, Tennessee. Built on the same succesful formula, the National Underground Nashville provides a home for original music featuring national and regional acts along with an oustanding menu. Across the street from Hard Rock Cafe, National Underground Nashville looks forward to becoming an institution in Music City. Other cities will follow soon.
